After your
consultation I was actively thinking and
reflecting on implications for our program and my
interaction with others. Thank you.

I was at a
Board meeting and we were talking about cultural
competency. In response to a discussion about how
poorly our program responds to Non-English
consumers, one of
the Promotoras who attended your training chimed
in about how addressing language/interpretation
only would not remedy the situation. Having worked
with this woman for the past two years, I feel
confident that her comments were a direct
result of your training influence.
Congratulations!

Because I live
on a reservation, in our work places and most of the
employers are all Natives, we seem to assume we
all have the same values, beliefs, and views. But
we are diverse and think our native people need to
realize within our own race we are a very diverse
people. I will take this back and begin
discussions with my co-workers, my church of how
we can be more inclusive. I will also evaluate my
own self first. Thank you. I enjoyed this topic
very much. I see where I can be more open-minded.

We are most
thankful that you provided the Cultural Competency
Training for us. What you presented and how you
presented the information made sense and made me
realize that I have not been heading in the right
direction when working with staff, new clients and/or populations. I look forward to working with you
in the future. Thank you.

Thank you for
all you do to bring the message of cultural
competency to those who need it -- and to keep
reminding those of us on the path that it is worth
the struggle.

This was my
first cultural competency training of any kind and
I'm glad I held out for the best! I gleaned at
several excellent ideas applicable to my work that
I have already shared with my staff but more
importantly was the impact of the training on me
personally. Very stimulating, thought provoking
and I believe life changing.

We, who are in
health and human services, especially, can truly
benefit and enhance our offerings to those in need
by adopting your steps for inclusiveness. Thank
you for a presentation which was light and
understandable while at the same time, loaded with
some heavy food for thought.

Your session
has impacted me greatly. You have encouraged me to
get out of my comfort zone and think intently
about inclusion and work on recognizing the impact
of my own stereotypes. Thank you.

This
experience opened my mind to think outside of the
box, that my way of thinking or doing isn’t always
done the same way in other cultures.

This training
helped me become aware of my own biases, no matter
how big or small and how they impact my work
environment.

Your
presentation has brought to the forefront of my
mind to be more aware of my own biases and how to
work on recognizing the differences and how to
react to them.

Having Dr.
Reyes as our facilitator was very helpful in
creating a safe place for local staff to express
themselves. The impact of this retreat has brought
our local and Regional staff to a different level.
Thank you and look forward to working with you.
